podcaster at work!

Richard took this photo of me yesterday, recording the electrical language podcast no 2. Here I am wearing my headphones - a free unexpected extra that came with my mp3 player bought on ebay - speaking into my brand new £4.99 (ebay again) microphone. Note the use of the desk lamp as a microphone stand.
The two photos below show my podcasting kit, kept in a biscuit tin. Apart from my mp3 player and the minidisc recorder that I have had for a long time and will use for recording away from home, the most expensive item is the i-mic. That's the round item at the bottom centre in the right hand photo, cost £8.50 (ebay again). My aim is not to spend more than £10 on any single piece of podcasting kit.
The two headsets are for talking to Richard and Jessica. The sound quality of the interview with Jessica in podcast no 1 was low because she kept on talking to me and not the mic. That podcast, by the way, was recorded using the thin curved mic above the tin, just to the right of the two headsets.
Why does blogger insert A before the pound sign - £?

I copied the photo of you podcasting and the photo of your equipt. Thanks for putting those up, they are good pictures. I put them in my "podcasting" file, of course. Of which this file is getting bigger. I will burn to cd your 2nd show here and then listen as I cruise down the hiways and byways of America in my trucking job!!
Keep up the good work gabor.
