This week I've tried to put together a set of punchier rock songs. I hope you like them
:

Seismic Anamoly - Walkin The Line

The project Seismic Anamoly was started in 2002 by Michael S., who lives in Meridian, MS, USA. Seismic Anamoly produce tunes that could be classified as Heavy Metal, Power Metal, Guitar and Instrumental Rock and Acoustic, but it is all home-grown Rock and Roll. Buy at magnatune.com

The Federals - Automatic Breakdown

This four piece from York play high energy rock and roll. Check out their myspace page (link above) and listen to songs from their demo ep.

The Blownaparts - She Wants To Bop

America's baddest rock n' roll band. Formerly known as The Napoleon Blownaparts, they are known as one of the most explosive live acts touring today.

Founder and front man Ajax Garcia displays angst and rage as he punches testosterone fuelled rock music into the hearts and bedrooms of teenagers everywhere. Buy their music via magnatune.com.

of god and science - America's Queen and 5'7"

of god and science, an innovative indie quartet, places old school melodies with sustained harmonies on top of groovy rhythms and crafty song arrangements. During much of 2006, the album "of god and science" was recorded, produced, mixed and by the band in Martino’s Albuquerque studio, Sky Witch Sound. The sound of the record lends homage to Beatles-era voices, circular rock rhythms and timeless melody. And, it’s all rendered with enough versatility to keep your ear interested without losing you in the puzzle-like song arrangements.

A Band Called Quinn - Bullet Or A Friend

My favourite band of the last few months. Louise Quinn's excellent vocals, backed by a more than capable band, produce music ranging from the ethereal and melodic through dance beats to rocking songs.

Bullet Or A Friend, good old rocker, is taken from the excellent album Sun Moon Stars due for release in July. Visit their store page and buy their albums Inbetween Worlds and Luss! Sadly, I'm not on commission.

Soundbed music used in today's podcast was Victory by Jeff Wahl. The signature tune is by Tragic Shell Suit Disaster.

The above comment is from Alistair Cooke of A Band Called Quinn. If you can catch the gig on 31 May, you will also see Leigh Myles. I played her song "Pulled In Both Directions" on podcast 69. If you go to the gig, would you like to file a report, audio or written?
